Dual Shaft Shredder — auto-reverse heavy-duty pre-treatment.
Counter-rotating dual shafts with hardox alloy / SS 304 blades, hydraulic feed pusher, auto-reverse on jam, PLC-controlled. Built for MSW pre-treatment, woody & fibrous waste, mixed inputs and any situation where a single-shaft would jam too often.

Best for
🏛 ULB MSW pre-treatment
Mixed municipal waste pre-treatment ahead of trommel + composting line. Auto-reverse handles real-world contamination.
🪵 Woody & fibrous waste
Tree branches, palm fronds, dense garden waste, agricultural residue, bamboo.
♻ MRF dry-waste pre-treatment
Rip open multi-layer packaging, bulky plastics, mixed paper before sorting line.
Common questions
Why dual-shaft instead of single-shaft for MSW?
Mixed municipal waste is a chaotic input. The two counter-rotating shafts pull material in from both sides simultaneously, prevent bridging, and the auto-reverse function clears jams without operator intervention. Single-shaft will jam frequently on MSW.
What's the typical CapEx?
Indicative (ex-Manesar, 2026): 22 kW / 1500 kg/hr ~₹15–20 L · 30 kW / 2500 kg/hr ~₹22–28 L · 45 kW / 3000 kg/hr ~₹32–42 L. Add hopper extension, conveyor, light curtain as optional.
Power requirement?
22–55 kW twin motors. Total connected load 30–80 kW depending on size. VFD soft-start eliminates inrush — peak load barely exceeds rated. We provide a load schedule for your electrical contractor.
How does the auto-reverse jam-clear work?
The PLC monitors motor current. When current spikes above the set threshold (indicating a jam), the shafts auto-reverse for 3-5 seconds, then forward again. After 3 failed attempts, the machine stops with an alarm. Operator can manually trigger reverse / forward cycles via the HMI for stubborn jams.
What feedstock can it handle?
Mixed MSW (post-segregation), woody waste, garden trimmings, plastic film, mixed cardboard, fibrous waste up to ~100 mm thickness. Not designed for: metal scrap, hard rocks, glass bottles, large bones. We provide a detailed feedstock matrix at DPR stage to confirm fit.
Manpower and operating cost?
1 operator + 1 helper per shift. Operating cost ~₹350-500 / tonne (excludes feedstock, depreciation). Major variable: blade life (typical 800-1,200 hours between sharpening at ~₹15-25 k per service). Replacement blade set ~₹85 k-1.2 L.
